COVID-19 has presented various challenges for Singaporeans across different sectors. In a radio interview hosted by Lance Alexander and Melanie Oliveiro, the discussion focused on children preparing for the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) this year, and how these children and their parents are managing exam preparations during the pandemic.
Dr Petrina Wong, Consultant Paediatrician (Respiratory & Sleep), offered advice on helping children stay physically active and mentally alert during COVID-19. She suggested that parents encourage their children to engage in family activities, such as simple stretching or jumping exercises before starting Home-Based Learning (HBL), or playing ball games in the afternoon. For outdoor activity, parents can take their children to open spaces away from crowds. Additionally, maintaining a well-balanced diet with nutritious foods and ensuring proper hydration are important for overall health.
