What are the consequences of prolonged sleep deprivation in youths? According to a study by NUS, only 15% of surveyed secondary school students get at least 8 hours of sleep. Dr Petrina Wong, Consultant Paediatrician specializing in Respiratory & Sleep, was recently featured in Channel 8’s mini documentary series "Tuesday Report <星期二特写>" in an episode titled “Chasing Sleep <追眠人>,” which explored sleep issues among youths.
In Episode 2, "Youths Dreaming for Sleep," Dr Wong discusses why good quality sleep is essential for our health, as the episode highlights three teenagers struggling with insufficient sleep and irregular sleeping patterns.
